Cultural Competency

The story behind this image; I'll be brief. Boss on conference call. Co-worker's loud phone goes off. Boss pauses the call and screams --- "who's phone is that?!?!?" It is Ms. Fernandez's phone, who is not at her desk. Boss: "well shut it off." Phone is shut off. Boss to client (a Chief Diversity Officer): "sorry, there was Mexican music going on in the background." The general office consensus is that it didn’t quite sound like "Mexican music," per se. Ms. Fernandez, upon hearing the story recounted – slams her cup and becomes highly upset. It is just another day in the office.
