Phil

1. Burger Joint - NYC

2. Father's Office - LA

Comment by Richards on Phil’s choice: Louis’ Lunch is a source of contention at work because one person says they created the burger while I disagree and state it was first served at the Chicago World Fair.

In an attempt to include myself in this blog discussion despite my total disinterest in hamburgers, here is my top five taco stands in Southern California:

1. Philiberto's in Encinitas
2. Roberto's in Solana Beach
3. Pedro's in San Clemente
4. Alejandro's in Costa Mesa (hometown favorite)
5. Los Primos in Costa Mesa

Honorable mention: Wahoo's in Costa Mesa, which incidentally is the original Wahoo's restaurant.

If you're going to go to a taco stand you need to judge them on their carne asada burrito, their hot sauce (which should be homemade), and their rolled-tacos with guacamole. Fish tacos score extra points.
